Employment at Ashland Supportive Housing gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families.
Ashland Supportive Housing and Community Outreach has the philosophy that in order to create a healthy environment for the people we support we have to start with a healthy, supportive environment for our staff. We believe in providing quality training for all new staff at hire to help them develop as professionals, and to thoroughly understand their work and the needs of the individuals they will be working with.
We look for applicants who will be patient, caring, reliable, communicative, compassionate, and who are committed to making a positive difference in their community. Experience is good, but not required for entry level DSP positions as we provide extensive training.
ASH will always accept job applications.
All full time (30 hour+) staff with a regular shift receive fully paid medical, dental, vision, and naturopathic insurance. ASH also offers a retirement plan with a 3% employer match, an educational benefit program, and an Employee Assistance Program with legal, counseling and other benefits. Separate vacation and sick leave are also provided depending on length of employment.
Direct Support Professional
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) support our residents and community based clients to live the lives they choose and participate within their community. They help people with food preparation, personal health and hygiene needs, personal shopping, money management, and prepare all required documentation.
DSPs are expected to be strong advocates for the people they support. DSPs may work in our residential homes or in our community based programs.
ASH also maintains a roster of substitute staff who are ready to fill in when others need a vacation or fall ill.
Program Managers and Assistant Managers
Program managers and their assistant managers are responsible for one residential home or community program, supervising the staff in that program, and ensuring the care for persons supported within that program is met in a timely, caring, and professional manner.
There is a one year minimum experience requirement working in the I/DD field for these positions. People interested in a management position are always welcome to inquire and apply.
Employees are required to have a valid drivers license. Experience is not required. Must be 18 years of age, hold Oregon Driver’s License and have ability to pass DHS Criminal Records check. Must be available to work nights and weekends.
