Lindley House, the best of the three

Lindley

The Lindley House Manager made the following statements

On working for ASH...
"This job provides me with the mental and emotional challenges and fulfillments that I require to be totally content with my work.  It feels like a natural family environment.  I enjoy the level of challenge that comes with balancing both resident and staff needs.  I appreciate my residents’ assertiveness and honesty.  I appreciate that staff take pride in their work and have a high level of understanding, compassion, and appreciation of our residents’ personalities and individuality: for me, that means I come to work to find a clean house and happy staff and residents."

For prospective Employees...
"When I’m hiring, I look for motivated people who take initiative.   I want people who will help support our residents’ dignity and can maintain composure in a fast paced situation.  I seek employees who appreciate diversity in people, in both personality and lifestyle."

Our Activities
Our residents like to watch sports on TV; we have a client who loves to watch football.  We also host musical events and dinners at our house that Miller and Pinel house residents are invited to attend.  One of our residents enjoys drawing with sidewalk chalk outside in our driveway.  Another client enjoys going for rides in a golf cart.

Upcoming Events:

Ashland's Halloween Parade

Recent Events:

We are just returning from another fun week at Camp Low Echo located at Lake of the Woods. The clients at ASH have been enjoying this annual week-long camping tradition for more than 20 years now! Camp Low Echo is run by Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington; we rent the camp for one beautiful week each year and support our clients that choose to come.  There is a main lodge and dining hall, several cabins with electricity and running water available for clients to stay in, a private dock with pedal boats and canoes, we rent a patio boat from the Lake of Woods Marina and have the most beautiful view of Mt. Pitt (aka Mt. McLaughlin). It is a lot of work but worth every bit of it to see smiling, happy campers out in the woods, doing arts and crafts projects in the dining hall or standing up out of a wheel chair to get into a boat!

Residents from Lindley, Miller and  Pinel houses, as well as our Community Outreach client enjoyed our annual Memorial day trip to Wild Life Images and a picnic lunch after the tour.

Lidley House attended a party at Miller house put on by the Youth Group from Ashland United Methodist Church, March 21st 2011.

Lindley House hosted a performance by Donny Roze on Saturday, August 14, 2010.

Lindley House attended a performance by Donny Roze that was hosted by Miller House on Saturday, May 15, 2010.
