Board of Directors

The board of directors is comprised entirely of volunteers. They democratically approve funding for projects, oversee operations, discuss current and future projects, and make decisions on the direction the company is taking. Their only compensation is the satisfaction of a job well done. So that you can get to know these remarkable people, we interviewed them.

We asked ASH board members to tell us a little about themselves.

Midge Binnewies
President

"I'm a retired special education teacher and I used to manage a bookstore. I've been a board member since 2003 and I serve ASH because I'm interested in the clients and having board level involement."

Amy Crumme Korth
Vice President

"I'm a manager at Helman Elementary School Cafeteria Manager. I've been a board member for nearly 20 years now. I got involved initially as an employee at Miller House in the 1980s. I bonded with the residents of that house and became interested in their long term well-being. I am privilaged to be able to serve as a board member."

Mildred Buck
Treasurer

"I was a nurse, I taught at University of California in San Francisco as well as the University of Wisconsin. I've been an ASH board member for 25 years. At first, I wanted to investigate future housing for our daughter. After she became a resident, I wanted to help with the growth and future of ASH."

Donne Converse

"I'm a retired Elementary Teacher. I've been on the board for 3 years. Two of my nieces are Developmentally Disabled, so I was acquainted with the needs of this population before Midge asked me to serve on the ASH Board. I have stayed because I am so impressed with the quality of care ASH provides for its clients and the concern it has for its employees."

Chris Hince

"I'm a Spiritual Counselor & Nutrition Consultant. I've been on the board for ASH for 2 years. I have a son who has developmental delay who is certainly not the Ashland average.  I want to help develop resources for people with developmental disabilities in Southern Oregon so that when he returns he will have this to draw on. ASH provides the best resources and quality of life for this population of any organization that I’ve ever seen.  I’m proud to be part of it."
